Welcome to Morningside
Feb 18, 2008 at 11:14 AM

Morningside is one of Pittsburgh's best kept secrets. Close-knit and friendly, neighbors live in two-story brick homes with old fashioned porches that encourage long talks and quick chats with friends and neighbors. Children ride their bicycles in the gentle shade of the trees that line the sidewalk, and joggers have two-square miles of neighborhood to explore.

The Morningside Area Community Council meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Morningside VFW Hall at 1820 Morningside Avenue.

Their findings uncovered a series of strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for the neighborhood to build upon.

Dowd Announces "Council to Go"
May 14, 2008 at 05:09 PM
The office of Patrick Dowd is excited to launch our mobile district office program – Council to Go. Please join Patrick and the staff at our inaugural sessions over May.

We aim for Council to Go to provide constituent services to more neighborhoods than a traditional district office. We will go to the places where people already congregate, and at most sites, we will have wireless access to most resources available at our Downtown office. Our full schedule is below, and more details are available at our website: www.pghgov.com/district7 .

Over the summer we will be evaluating the success of the program, so by fall we can set a permanent schedule. Please send your feedback to me or so we can incorporate it in our workplan.

Please pass the word, and thank you for your support.
